What’s your favorite way to channel your creativity?

I switched from my daily writing on 750 words back to a journal, in which I nt only write, but sometimes make little sketches, or attack the pages with colors – give me a little spark a day!

And what’s your favorite way to express your creativity?

Solving problems in a new and unexpected way, singing, writing and scrapbooking :)

That sounds wonderful, Eva. Sometimes you just have to let go off all the self-imposes rules to enjoy creating again.

I love to go for a run whenever I feel stuck. This gives me a clear mind and often a burst of creativity. I know it sounds totally cliche, but it helps every single time. I guess, it’s got to do with the runner’s high…

I can totally relate. Exercise is a sure fire way for me to clear my mind and then fill it with new ideas. Thanks for sharing.

I recently learned about writing morning pages and this has helped me so so much. Sure, sometimes I feel like I don’t know what to say, so that’s what I write down. But then there are those mornings where I get into the flow and I really start to uncover my genius. haha I love to write and paint and I think that creativity is present in every part of my life.

I learned to play the piano when I was very young and I can’t begin to put into words how much this has helped me in my life. Whenever I feel down, I sit down and just play. I can express myself and my emotions in those moments in a deeper way than by talking about it or writing about it. Music is by far my favorite way to channel my creativity. I also find that by playing, I open myself up to being creative in other areas of my life.

  • Svea

I’d love to win the copy of Melissa’s eBook. I have lost the ability to be creative in my life. I was a very creative kid (aren’t we all?) and then I just stopped. Now, I’m scared of being creative, of being judged and of failing. But I feel that I’m missing something in my life and I really want to go back to writing poems and short stories. I know I would feel more alive again if I could get rid of my inner blockages.

My favorite way to channel creativity is looking at the beauty that surrounds me. I can spend hours on Pinterest or walk around looking at architecture, nature and sometimes just looking at the sky. The older I get the more I start to see beauty in everything. This inspires me and gives me new ideas to write about.

  • Meagan Furrow

My biggest inspiration is my baby. It only takes one glance at her and I feel inspired. She’s beautiful and her smile is outrageous. And I love to sing to her and just make up songs. I’m not a great singer, but right now, that’s my favorite way to express my creative side.
